Sudah lama sekali, Winamp tidak update. Banyak orang yang heran kenapa Winamp hanya stuck di versi 5.666… Ya, Project Winamp sempat dihentikan dikarenakan sponsor utama, AOL telah memberhentikan bantuannya ke Winamp. Tapi ternyata, Dro mengeluarkan versi Beta dari Winamp yang di beri nama WACUP. WACUP adalah singkatan dari Winamp Community Update Pack. Dan sesuai namanya, Update ini sebenarnya hanya untuk komunitas yang mengikuti beta tester. Tapi untuk kalian yang ingin mengunduhnya, link-nya ada dibawah post ini. Dan kali ini Dro telah merilis versi baru dari WACUP pada 8 Februari 2017 yang di beri versi 0.9.9.1430. Apa saja perubahannya dari versi sebelumnya? mari kita lihat changelognya :

  • Added CD ripping support to the replacement CD handling plug-in (still no metadata look-up whilst validating this addition works)
  • Added ‘Three Mode Repeat’ plug-in which allows for seeing the manual advance and stop after current states under classic skins along with a global hotkey to toggle between repeat off, repeat all and repeat track modes
  • Added option to the ‘Backup / Restore’ preferences to check for updates for the Backup Tool (if already installed)
  • Added option to the ‘Plug-ins’ preferences to check for updates for the Info Tool (if already installed)
  • Added initial duration support for the ‘Audio Generator’ plug-in to allow for controlled length of playback
  • Fixed the ‘CD Playback’ plug-in pausing for a few seconds between tracks due to incorrectly re-checking for CD-Text on track change
  • Fixed the ‘CD Playback’ plug-in incorrectly reporting it cannot rip a track if it was the last used plug-in for playback
  • Fixed the ‘CD Playback’ plug-in causing a crash when trying to rip a track after playing a track (found whilst fixing the above issue)
  • Fixed Milkdrop2 causing a hanging when using the modern skin menu action button to show the plug-in configuration menu
  • Fixed Milkdrop2 crashing when entering into the broken desktop mode (changes since Vista + 64-bit Windows broke it – maybe it should be removed?)
  • Fixed Milkdrop2 resetting the Winamp skinned window position if part of the skinned window frame was outside of the configured monitor
  • Fixed Milkdrop2 not remembering it’s skinned windows position if using the Ctrl+Shift+K main window shortcut and associated menu item
  • Fixed the playlist views not preserving the sort direction indicator (if applicable) when re-opening the playlist views
  • Fixed importing library playlists and using the external copy not storing the full path to the playlist in all cases
  • Fixed some title formatting quirks with the ‘Audio Generator’ plug-in as part of having duration support
  • Removed duplicated skinned menu handling code from a number of plug-ins to now use a shared instance in the WACUP core (winamp.dll) which saves a few KB from the compiled plug-in dlls
  • Removed the option to preserve the collapsed preference nodes state as it is now always enabled

 Versi ini masih tidak memiliki integritas shell, sehingga jangan heran bila kita buka file musik dari File Explorer, maka terlihat blank dan tidak bisa membukanya tanpa harus membuka WACUP terlebih dahulu. Skin Bento yang diperbaharui juga membuatnya semakin membuatnya lebih menarik. Perubahan window lain selain main window ke tema gelap dan campuran putih dan warna metal membuatnya keren. perubahan terbesar busa dirasakan di settings.

Namun terkadang tema yang baru ini masih ada bug, seperti crash saat membuka window, dan terkadang balik lagi ke tema window lama, yaitu putih.

WACUP juga menyediakan plug-in yang tidak disertakan pada Winamp versi 5.666. yaitu Waveform Seeker dan Big Clock

Di versi ini tidak ada perubahan signifikan terhadap suara yang dihasilkan oleh WACUP (apa karna saya tidak pakai speaker “20 Jutaan” :’v) namun bagi yang suka ripping CD, update kali ini sangat bagus karena akhirnya fitur ripping ditambahkan.
